Teresa Hill's "Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure" : September 2001 Pledge Page

CHECK OUT THE PHOTOS FROM THE RACE ON SATURDAY

I FINISHED in 23:45 214th out of 2412

Hi, family and friends it is that time of year again. I will be running in HONOR of my mom JUDITH B. HILL in the "Race for the Cure" to raise money for breast cancer research. This is a very dear cause for me as you know MOM is a SURVIVOR!!!!

My mom has been VERY courageously waging war against breast cancer for the last 12 or so years. Just recently she won her 3rd battle in her war against cancer with the prediction for an optimistic future. Since her first battle to the most recent, WE (Mom, Dad, Tommy, and myself) have observed great strides being made in the treatment and early detection of breast cancer to which we attribute her victories in this war. This has only been possible by prayer, donations, and her will to "never, never, never, ever," give up and persevere.

On Septemeber 29th, 2001 for the third year, I will lace up my running shoes and hit the pavement for the "5k South Carolina Upstate Susan G. Koman Race for the Cure." This year will be even better as Mom, Dad and Sean will be walking the 1 mile fun walk prior to the 5K race. Mom was in attendace last year but unable to walk due to chemotherapy treatments at the time.

PLEASE help me in this fight by making a contribution towards breast cancer research, whether it is large or small each contribution DOES MAKE a difference and brings us closer to finding a cure. I have set a goal to try to raise at least $500 dollars this year. Maybe it is a high goal, but a challenge I am willing to take on.

I will be posting my training and MOM and DAD will be posting their's as well in the diary portion of the site daily and updating the money raised (CLICK ON STATS-To date 10/01/01 $920).

After the completion of the race I will post pictures of us before, during and after the race, and how I finished.

Please remember to keep all survivors, victims of this disease, and their families in your thoughts and prayers whether you choose to make a contribution or not!

Thank you

Sincerely,
Teresa
